Hot, humid UAE summer days are not too far away, and I've been meaning to clear out my wardrobe and bring out my airy linens, breathable cotton, and fun, fresh summer attire. I can already envision a pile of old t-shirts stacking up for the donation bin. Some are too grubby to give away, faded with over-use.
Then I found this nify idea on Pintrest: how to create yarn from old t-shirts!

I've crocheted a rug with a giant crochet hook many moons ago (must make a mental note to ask my mum if she still has it), and I remember running out of yarn somewhere in between. Wish I'd found this tutorial way back then!
I've been brainstorming on all the wonderful DIY projects I can try out with all this t-shirt yarn:
- A rug for the bathroom
- Cushion cover
- A tote bag
- Maybe even a small throw!
I think I'll be digging into my hubby's wardrobe for old t-shirts too... our house will soon have very personalized hand-woven pieces!
